LashedWeights - Fortress Mode Let's Play

Episode 1: Really, Nick?

Whelp, I got some dwarves, ready to go. Sara, Eric, Wendy, Ryan, Sam, Nellie, and Nick. We brought plenty of animals, so we shouldn't die from hunger. Hopefully. No promises.

We just for fun completely by accident ended up in some kind of evil wasteland.
Way to go, fearless leader Nick.

This won't end well, those circles are actually eyeball grass, which is a thing in Dwarf Fortress.
See!?
We're gonna start by getting as far as possible from all of this. Strike the earth! We're going to need workshops, resources, and a hospital, since Sam (short for Samantha) the hunter is hunting alligators and harpies (pretty dangerous work, even for a hunter).

I got the miners, Sara and Eric, to dig out a space for us. We dug out spots for workshops, stockpiles, dorm rooms, and a dining room. We were able to survive a cloud of "unholy soot" that drifted to close for comfort. That stuff can turn your dwarves into zombies, you know. Sam's already killed two rabbits, but we didn't have any way to butcher them yet, so they rotted. :( We really need farms soon. Do you guys think we should focus on survival or military the most? Don't forget about the threat of zombies. Either way, it's up to you.
